The community of Seven Hickories is located in the central region of Kent County within the state of Delaware. The unincorporated community is part of the Dover Metropolitan Statistical Area. History
The area was originally the home of the Lenape Native American Indians, also referred to as the Delaware Indians. William Penn, the English writer and member of the Quakers, founded the area in 1683. The community was part of Dover, named after the town in England. Penn also named Kent County based on a location in England.
