History
Maple Dale Country Club’s current location has a rich history associated with Delaware’s historical past. The land first belonged to Jane Bartlett back in 1681, which has later purchased in 1708 by Owen David of Whales. Today, one of the original structures still stands and remains a personal residence that faces the 16th green and 17th tee.
In 1922, a three-hole golf course was developed on the property of Daniel O. Hastings, known as Maple Dale Farm which included the property of the descendants of the David family. Shortly after, the course was leased by a newly formed golf club and since then, has grown on a 158-acre site with an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts.
Golfing
The country club offers several types of golfing opportunities for members of the club. There are men and women golf groups, couples golf, a practice facility, and a Pro Shop for all your golfing needs. The 18-hole golf course is a challenging, fun, and beautiful course that showcases a scenic background of wooded terrain and a variety of ponds.
