History

John was also the founder of a tannery that operated for over 100 years and was named Grubb’s Landing. His father was a Quaker, and he was born in Stoke Climsland, Cornwall. He came to the area where he purchased 500 acres.

The small neighborhood is known for its festivities and social events, especially its annual Halloween parade. The weekend before Halloween each year, the residents get into their costumes and begin on Waverly Road and make their way to Thomas Road all the way to South Park.
